The Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools is a long-term effort to renew and elevate civic learning as the best way to educate young Americans for democracy. The Campaign works with coalition partners to bring about changes in state, local, and national policies that implement the recommendations in The Civic Mission of Schools, a report by Carnegie Corporation of New York and the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and engagement (CIRCLE).
Education in civics and government should not be incidental to the schooling of American youth but a central purpose of education."
